Using the words of John Henry Newman this chaplet helps us to draw closer to God within His Church. It encourages constant conversion of life, mind and heart. For those outside the Church it provides a means of encouragement on the journey home; a journey which Blessed John Henry Newman found difficult and painful, causing him to leave behind friends and many familiar and beautiful things as he made his way towards the Church founded by Christ.

Throughout the Middle Ages England was often referred to as ‘Mary’s Dowry’ and the devotion shown to the mother of Christ was renowned across Europe.
In 1051 Richeldis, the Lady of the manor of Walsingham received a vision in which the Blessed Virgin requested a copy of the Holy House of Nazareth to be built in that place; the northern part of the county of Norfolk. The Incarnation was to be honoured in that place for centuries and the unique role of Mary became a source of contemplation for pious visitors and pilgrims.
This chaplet encourages contemplation of the original shrine, its destruction and rebuilding while meditating on the mysteries of Nazareth and the relationship between the Divine Child and His Blessed Mother.

This chaplet of the national shrine of our Lady in Wales, honours the events of Candlemas, during her Purification in the Temple, forty days after the Incarnation. It recalls the words spoken of by the holy priest Simeon when he took the Child in his arms and blessed God. The theme is ‘light’.  Five Mysteries meditate on the Light of Christ.

This simple niner is an aid to the worship of Almighty God. It serves to help us say devoutly the most basic and direct prayers and draws us into the presence of God.

This chaplet is unique in that it takes us to Lourdes in 1858 and  through the journey of Bernadette’s encounters with the ‘Lady’; we listen to the words she spoke and their culmination in the revelation of her status as ‘the Immaculate Conception’.

With this chaplet we recall the dramatic event of 1916 and 1917 as heaven gave warning of the consequences of falling away from faith. Almighty God sent an angel from heaven followed by the mother of Christ. This chaplet allows us to enter into the depths of meaning in the words uttered at Fatima. In this way we are enabled to amend our lives and strengthen our faith in Almighty God.

Our Lady is our mother and loves us with a parents love. At the Cross she became the mother of us all. It is good to ask her prayers for help in any necessity.

Saint George was proclaimed the patron saint of England in the mid thirteenth century and protector of the royal family by Edward III in  the fourteenth century. His bravery and faith resulted in martyrdom and he has remained an inspiration throughout the centuries. His prayers are as important as his example and in these two little chaplets we ask God for courage and bravery as we do battle with Satan and evil that the Kingdom of God might be fully revealed in our day.

St David is the Patron Saint withing Great Britain to have been born in the country which so honours him. This chaplet recalls the saints who, with St David, firmly established the Catholic faith in Wales. Their names are associated with the four ancient dioceses for which we pray.

The story of St Patrick has always been linked to  solid, Catholic and  Trinitarian teaching. The twelve beads of this little chaplet aid us in a meditation  based on the Apostles’ Creed. With this devotion we are brought close to the heart of Almighty God as He has revealed Himself to man.

A rich girl in a poor convent; a short life but a powerful witness to God. St Therese trusted even in the darkest moments of her life. She was a blessing to those around her and offers us the blessings of heaven today.
This chaplet illustrates her short life and is said with trust that through her God will bless us today.

St Jude is an actual relative of the incarnate Son of God. An incredible privilege for him and a blessing for us who turn to him. Though we are all brothers and sisters of Christ through baptism, Jude shares His human DNA!
This chaplet of 40 beads allows us to spend time with him.

An extended meditation on each of the spoken words of Christ upon the cross. we are able to enter into the Mystery of the Cross as we stand with Mary, John and the women on Calvary. We take His words into our hearts and are helped to understand His Sacrifice a little more.

In this devotion we take on the role of Servant to the Holy Family by serving a family in need. We are encouraged to help them practically and spiritually perhaps without them ever knowing. In this way we serve the Holy Family in them.
Sr Marie Pierre encourages us to imagine that we are the family donkey, doing the bidding of the Holy Family and serving as best we can.

When we look upon the Face of Christ we will encounter him fully. Here are shown His griefs and joys. In this age when His Name is used as a curse or ‘thrown away’ in a casual or even filthy context, this chaplet urges us to make reparation; to put everything right. As coarse voices are raised against Christ, so ours rise up to give Him comfort. It is as if we are stood at the foot of the Cross with the Marys and St John and we offer our love and prayers to the Suffering Lord.

This is a beautiful way to approach God when not receiving Holy Communion. We should never simply go up to the altar to receive our Blessed Lord without first examining our conscience and confessing our sins. The devotions said on these beads provide a perfect  aid to worship when we find that we are not ready to receive. Simply kneel and adore during the communion.

No series of apparitions of our Lady come close to the gentle words she used with this poor man; Juan Diego, her ‘son’. His enthusiasm to do as he was bid shine through the dialogues between this South American peasant and the Queen of Heaven, his mother.

He lived only twenty three years, but in that brief time inspired others to seek to serve Christ in purity of heart. This is a good chaplet for those struggling to conquer the material things of life.

This simple chaplet encourages us to stay close to our lady for nine days. Each day we offer our prayers and devotion whilst fervently asking for our petition to be granted.

St John tells us that ‘God is Love’. Though St Valentine is now associated with romantic love alone, he represents the love of God to be shown to all humanity.

In this chaplet we pray for his help as we perfect that love in our lives; with those with whom we are romantically attached, with our families, friends and neighbours and also, most difficult of all, with those we dislike and are considered as our ‘enemies’.
